Rub an ice cube all over your face before you apply makeup. (This helps close the pores and reduce redness for glowing skin. It will, also, help your makeup last longer.
I am looking forward to trying this technique and method. While I knew that ice is useful for many things, I don’t know why it never occurred to me that it would close pores. The redness is not a surprise to me. Fortunately, I don’t have redness on my skin, but near my nose, I tend to have larger pores. Plus, I am all for my makeup lasting longer.
Mix honey with lemon juice. Apply this to affected areas at bedtime to help get rid of blackheads.
*Cue eye roll* Blackheads are SO annoying. Because my skin is light, the blackheads are very apparent on my skin. This is a simple mask to help get rid of these pesky blemishes.
To prevent clumps in your mascara, run it under hot water before use.
I, especially, love this beauty hack. My eyelashes are unruly on their own. They’re long but wild. The clumpy mascara does nothing but worsens the situation, and I’ve found that the higher end mascaras tend to do me better. However, I’m not happy to pay the high-end prices. Therefore, this hack is a God-send.
Put a dryer sheet over your hairbrush, and it gets rid of static.
Fortunately, I do not really have to deal with this, but this is a pretty interesting hack. It sounds complicated, but this is a simple hack to try to tame any fly-aways.
Rub a small amount of vaseline (petroleum jelly) on the areas where you apply perfume. This will help the scent cling to your skin making it last longer.
I feel like I could do a post dedicated to the several uses of Vaseline, or petroleum jelly. It works for so many things. However, in this context, it helps you to smell better longer. People will be able to appreciate the scent of you. (Plus, the scent that you carry can trigger memories for other. Find a signature scent for yourself :).)
Put standard, liquid glue around your fingernails before painting them. Then, don’t worry about getting nail polish on your fingers. Just peel away the glue after you’re done for perfect nails.
I have been guilty of painting my nails and toes and getting annoyed when the polish gets on my skin. I’m right-handed, so when I have to polish my right hand, it’s not nearly as cute as my left hand is. There’s a hack for that! This hack keeps my polish in check and makes sure that my manicure is popping.
Get Rid of Dark Underarms: Rub milk on your underarms. Wash it off after 15 minutes. Do this daily for 3 weeks.
Dark underarms can take a wonderful picture from fab to drab. They say that milk does a body good, so allow it to lighten those underarms.
2 Ingredients for Glowing Skin: 2 tablespoons of yogurt and 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. Use this as a mask.
Who doesn’t love to glow? I love it when people tell me that I look like I’m glowing and happy. In fact, so many people use highlighters and makeup chasing that glow. Therefore, use this yogurt and lemon juice to get the glow that you desire. We use masks anyway, and they tend to get pricey, this one is easy and inexpensive.
Dry tea bags in smelly shoes will absorb the odor.
No one would want to admit this (it’s understandable), but sometimes shoes stink. BUT… there’s a solution for this. Tea bags have great other uses, as well, but in this context, they take away foul odors. Personally, whether your shoes stink or not, I feel like you should allow the tea bags to work their magic every now and then.
Use shaving cream to fix foundation stains before throwing it in the washing machine.
I am guilty of wasting makeup on my clothes and having a hell-of-a-time trying to get it out. Allow the shaving cream to work its magic first, and let your clothes be like new. This can be helpful beyond foundation… use this for lipstick, too. It works!
